My Approach
With every client interaction, I strive to comprehensively address clinical concerns with the goal of providing specific and helpful feedback unique to each individual. I am committed to providing treatment with a supportive, understanding and warm manner. My training encompasses a variety of psychological orientations to identify the empirical interventions and models that would most help each client. Some individuals prefer a more open-ended exploration of thoughts and emotional processing, whereas others want concrete ideas about how to increase their ability to cope with life struggles. I specialize in identifying and providing a tailored approach to each client in a way that most efficiently achieves symptom reduction and assists them with accomplishing their goals.
I have practiced for more than ten years and completed my doctoral studies in clinical psychology at The George Washington University in Washington, DC and am licensed as a psychologist in Texas and Virginia. I completed predoctoral and postdoctoral fellowships in university, forensic and government settings, including a two-year National Health Service Corps placement. My education and training were in programs accredited by the American Psychological Association. Currently, I am a member of the National Register of Health Service Psychologists and the local Capital Area Psychological Association.
